About the Role
Swift being an Agile organisation, we have introduced the role of Agile Project Manager (called Road Manager). The Road Management team is a closely collaborating group of professionals covering a broad range of expertise, both on the business and technology side. Road Managers support the tribe to meet their long-term objectives and are engaged early in the discussion with the tribe leadership; they support the tribe to translate their plans into high-level priorities roadmap; they help the tribe to create transparency on delivery risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies across the organisation. They build bridges between squads across tribes as well as other parts of the organisation. A Road Manager also helps navigate stakeholders outside the tribe to the right contacts in the tribe.
In order to fulfil this role, you will be assigned to support a specific tribe. This allows you to build a deep understanding of the tribe’s structure, people, objectives, deliverables and dynamics.

About the Product group

What to expect
The Road Manager function is key to foster transparent Swift-wide collaboration, enabling the tribe to manage external dependencies & their associated risks. As a Road Manager, you will be responsible for working closely with Product owner, Tribe leads and other tribe partners to assist the delivery of cross-tribe dependencies linked to your tribe products and services supporting the tribe objectives.

Key Responsibilities
As a Road Manager you will:
- Support the Quarterly Business Review (QBR) preparation:
- Contribute to the Quarterly Business Review (QBR) preparation by providing the necessary detail and status on all squad, tribe and Program dependencies, following up on comments and discussions.
- Actively participate to the Big Room Planning (BRP) to understand the tribe priorities for next quarter, double-check that no dependencies are missed
- Proactively follow-up on dependencies which are not committed and need to be raised to the Market Place. Create visibility to get Product Owner and Tribe Leadership support and facilitate discussion to resolve the issue.
- Monitor dependency and facilitate issue resolution:
- Support the tribe with alignment on priorities and facilitation of cross-tribe dependencies and impediments.
- Keep the dependency list up-to-date and proactively share cross-tribe dependencies to tribe stakeholders.
- For programs, collaborate with Program Managers and play the role of entry door to the tribe for orienting demand to the relevant PO.
- Network with other tribe partners and Road Managers colleagues to ensure a coherent flow of information
- Support Major Program
- Act as the entry door for program managers driving strategic initiatives
- Facilitate monitoring of your tribe progress, risks and issues
- Proactively share program status with the tribe stakeholders on a recurrent basis and raise concerns to PO, TL when need be.
- Facilitate (cross-)tribe initiatives
- Facilitate and oversight initiatives with involved POs and other support roles until implementation
- Provide with transparent status & reporting leveraging the data in Jira
- RM organization – owner of dependency management practice
- Dependency Management – Maintain the cross-tribe dependency management practice used in all tribes aligning as well with other similar practices in the organization.
- Maintain the Product Roadmap, outlining the company strategic priorities as a tool to help tribe prioritization of short-term activities
- Streamline communication and identify potential process improvements
What will make the candidate successful
As a Road Manager
a) Experience & Education
- University degree or equivalent
- At least 8 years of relevant experience within the area of IT product development, IT Project Management and/or area of similar complexity.
b) Soft Skills
- Adaptability and responsiveness to change
- Strong communication skills (both written and oral)
- Team player, willing to work in multicultural environment
- Ability to influence, work effectively across all levels and transversally; challenger, curious and a positive mindset
- Problem solving mindset with proven facilitation and coaching skills, working with diverse team and for increasingly complex situations.
- Continuous learning attitude with solid business and technical understanding.
- Experience of working in environments involving Agile development is a plus.
- Experience with SWIFT products, services, and solutions is a plus.
- Certification in Agile methodologies (SCRUM) would be advantageous.
