The specifications of Samsung‘s upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 4 have been leaked ahead of its expected launch later this year. The Galaxy Z Flip 4 will be an upgrade over the Z Flip 3 5G, which was launched last year and has become one of the best-selling folding smartphones of 2022. The Z Flip 3 and the Z Fold 3, which were also launched in the previous year, are among the best folding smartphones that money can buy right now, but Samsung will be hoping to take its folding devices more mainstream this year with faster hardware, more intuitive software and possibly, a more affordable price-tag.
The Z Flip 4 leak comes just a couple of days after the full spec sheet of the Z Fold 4 was leaked online, revealing a few noteworthy upgrades over its predecessor. As for the Z Flip 4, multiple leaks about it over the past several weeks have shown a few key tidbits about it. According to prior leaks, the device may retain the same design as the Z Flip 3 but offer better battery life and faster-charging speeds. The latest leak now seems to confirm some of those claims.

According to his tweet, the Z Flip 4 will be powered by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor — a noticeable upgrade over the Z Flip 3 that came with the Snapdragon 888 under the hood. In addition, the device will reportedly feature a 6.7-inch FHD+ 120Hz Super AMOLED main display like the Z Flip 3, but the external display will be an improvement over the one on the older model. While the Z Flip 3 features a 1.9-inch cover display, the upcoming device will ship with a 2.1-inch Super AMOLED external display with an unspecified resolution.

One of the elements that will see an upgrade is the battery. While the Z Flip 3 came with a 3,300mAh battery with 15W charging, the Z Flip 4 will sport a 3,700mAh battery with 25W wired charging support. The wireless charging, however, will remain at 10W. In terms of software, the device is being tipped to run Android 12 with Samsung‘s proprietary OneUI 4 on top.
