It is easy to delete individual photos and videos from Facebook Stories, including archived ones. Facebook Stories are temporary by design, meaning they self-destruct after twenty-four hours. However, users can also manually delete these posts within 24-hours to prevent potential embarrassment.
Facebook Stories are a great way to share photos, videos and text for a limited amount of time, but a typo or a sudden change of heart can mean that the Story needs to be deleted right away. Fortunately, the feature is available on both the Facebook website as well as the mobile app, meaning users can delete Stories from their desktop or mobile device with ease.
To delete photos or videos from a Facebook Story using a smartphone, launch the Facebook app and then tap on ‘Your Story‘ at the top of the news feed on the Home page. Next, wait for the photo or video that needs to be deleted, and then tap on the three-dot menu button at the top-right corner of that post. Next, on the following page, choose ‘Delete photo‘ or ‘Delete video‘ depending on the item being deleted. Finally, confirm the deletion by hitting the ‘Delete’ button at the bottom of the page. Facebook will now delete the selected item from the Story.

Now from the ‘Profile Settings‘ menu, select ‘Archive‘ and then hit the ‘Story Archive‘ option. Next, choose the target Story and then find the photo or video that needs to be deleted.
