Telegram allows users to create multiple-choice polls and quizzes to involve and engage multiple participants in group conversations and decisions.
Telegram allows users to create polls and add quiz questions without any third-party application. The app has added a lot of useful features with recent updates. Back in April, for example, Telegram added custom notification sounds and custom mute durations. With these features, users can set anything as the notification sound of a particular contact and mute someone for a set duration.
If the users feel like they want to delete all the messages they have received in an entire day, Telegram has also taken care of that. Likewise, whether it is in-app language translation or creating Channels with unlimited participants, Telegram provides more features to play around with than most other messaging platforms, including Signal and WhatsApp.
Telegram users can create polls in groups and channels. To begin, open the group chat or channel, tap on the attachment icon and select ‘Poll’ from the available options. The user will then need to type the poll question. This will typically be the main question that a participant or admin wants an answer to. For instance, it could be “Which video game to play this weekend?” For every question, Telegram allows users to add up to 10 options. Finally, the poll settings will need to be selected before posting.
Choosing A Telegram Poll Type
When users are done with the poll question and answer options, they will need to select the poll type. By default, Telegram creates polls in ‘Anonymous Voting‘ mode where only the results are shown, and the voting details of participants are hidden. Creating this type of poll will allow group or channel members to select only one option. However, there is also a ‘Multiple Answers‘ poll type which allows those taking part to choose more than one option. While creating a multiple-answer poll, admins can either enable or disable anonymous voting. On polls that are not anonymous, Telegram admins can tap on ‘View Results‘ and see the voting details.
‘Quiz Mode‘ is the third option users can select in the poll settings. It will convert the poll into a quiz-type question with only one correct answer. While creating a quiz, Telegram admins must select the correct answer. If the participants tap on the correct answer, they will see an on-screen animation and a check mark. If users select the wrong answer, the poll card in the Telegram group or channel will show an “X” next to the chosen answer and a check mark next to the correct answer.
