Belkin has launched an upgraded BoostCharge Pro 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Stand that can simultaneously charge an iPhone, an Apple Watch and AirPods. It is an upgrade to the existing BoostCharge Pro 3-in-1 Wireless Charger that was launched in late 2020 for $139.99. It came with a tree-like design with two stainless steel ‘branches’ to accommodate an iPhone and an Apple Watch. It also had a 5W Qi charger embedded in the base to wirelessly juice up any Qi device, including the AirPods and AirPods Pro.
Wireless charging has become increasingly popular over the years and is available on almost all flagship smartphones circa 2022. While the technology came to Android devices several years ago, the first set of iPhones to get the feature were the iPhone 8 and iPhone X, which were launched in 2017. Since then, all iPhones have come with the ability to charge without a cable. As for MagSafe charging, it originally debuted in Apple’s MacBooks several years ago before the company introduced it in the iPhone 12 lineup in 2020.
Belkin’s new BoostCharge Pro three-in-one charger retains the design and form-factor of its predecessor but supports fast charging for the Apple Watch Series 7. According to Belkin’s official product page, the device can charge the latest Apple Watch models from 0-80 percent in just 45 minutes. However, do note that the older Apple Watch models are not compatible with the new fast-charging standard, which means Apple Watch 6 and older models will still charge at the standard speeds.
15W Fast-Charging For Apple Watch Series 7
Alongside 15W charging for the Apple Watch Series 7, the new Belkin charger also offers up to 15W fast charging for iPhone 12 and 13, as well as 5W charging for AirPods and AirPods Pro. The retail pack for the new BoostCharge Pro model includes a 40W power adapter and is available for pre-order now from Belkin’s official website. The device will also be available for purchase at Apple Stores in the U.S. and will launch globally “in the coming months.”
Fast-charging capabilities for the Apple Watch are a significant advantage, especially as it has become difficult to charge it at night for people who use it for sleep tracking. Still, that feature alone may not lure too many users into immediately upgrading to the new model, especially due to its rather hefty price tag. Still, despite the pricing, if it is anything like its predecessor, the all-new Belkin BoostCarge Pro 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Stand could well be one of the best third-party accessories for Apple devices this year.
